PressureGuard® APM² Alternating Pressure & Lateral Rotation Mattress

When patients need to spend extended periods of time in bed, the PressureGuard APM 2 can help to increase their comfort while providing important protection against skin shearing. This air therapy unit is proven to be more effective than roll-up treatments, and has become an industry leading therapy option for more than a decade.

The PressureGuard APM 2 offers you the choice of two therapies, which you can activate with the flip of a toggle switch. The alternating pressure setting inflates and deflates air cylinders in alternating pairs. The cycle alternates for five minutes on each side, repeating every ten minutes. The rotation cycle inflates a pair of air cylinders on one side, while the cylinders on the opposite side deflate. The motion rotates the patient to one side, then the other. The cycle alternates for five minutes on each side, repeating every ten minutes.

The PressureGuard APM 2 is equipped with Shear Transfer Zones which provide protection against skin shearing. The digital control unit is lightweight and quiet, allowing the patient to rest undisturbed even while the unit is running. This unit features raised exterior edges which encourage the patient to stay toward the center, and a heel slope further reduces the heel pressure. Additionally, the unit comes with an anti-microbial bi-directional stretch cover for excellent durability.
