Bathtubs
Bath tubs can be very hazardous. Transferring from a wheelchair to the tub can be difficult. The tub area must be carefully designed to provide maximum safety. Bathtub and shower grab bars can be installed to provide support. Tub transfer seatsallow persons to sit in the tub and take a bath or shower without having to lower themselves to the tub floor. Many people find it difficult to use a tub. Bath tubs can be replaced with showers.
Roll-in Showers
A roll-in, wheelchair accessible shower can provide the answer for a person that wants to have a shower but may have difficulty ambulating or not have the endurance to stand in a shower. We can help develop a customized solution for your specific issue, whether it’s a shower with a small curb and a bench or grab bars to provide that extra security. A hand-held shower spray and adjustable handle is a nice addition to any shower and a necessary addition to a shower for someone with special needs.
Grab Bars
Grab bars are safety devices fixed in bathrooms for patients, elderly and physically challenged people. They are supportive bars which are specially designed to be fitted in bathtubs and restrooms. Doorway Widening
Widening your doors will make it easier to maneuver a walker or wheelchair into a handicapped room. If you are making a straight approach through the door the minimum width of a door should be 32 inches. If the doorway is part of the typical hallway and you need to turn a wheelchair to maneuver through the door than the width of the door should be 36 inches. Widening a door for a handicapped bathroom can be accomplished by installing a new wider door and frame or simply adding an offset hinge
Access Ramps
People in wheelchairs need access to elevated areas and may require the use of a handicap ramp. Wheelchair ramps can be difficult for someone using a walker, crutches, or a cane, so consider the installation of both, ramps and lower riser steps.
