It stimulates a natural movement pattern, and helps the patient to develop both their strength and their balance. In order to use QuickMove, a person needs to have some strength in their arms, and must be able to bear weight. The patient uses their own strength to rise, at which point the caregiver folds the lift's cushions down behind the buttocks. This offers security during the transfer, and the patient can remain standing or may choose to sit. The knee brace, which is adjustable, helps to offer support, and facilitates a safe transfer. When it's time for the patient to rise again, the caregiver can push a handle to angle the cushions upward, supporting the patient as they return to the standing position.
