The FlapCair LAL Cellular Support Mattress by Joerns provides the maximum in pressure relief and pain management for patients requiring longer-term bed stays. While the industry standard for therapeutic support mattresses is only 20 inflated cells, the FlapCair LAL features 160 cells. These extra cells help to achieve full weight distribution and precise pressure for increased treatment and preventative care against dangerous and costly secondary conditions and infections. Each cell can be individually adjusted to treat wounds or surgical sites and can be controlled by zone (head, seat, or foot), too.

There are three modes of automated operation: Autofirm, Pulsate, and Therapy. By activating these automated operational modes, caregivers achieve increased flexibility to assist the patient with other needs. The easy-to-use control unit features a panel lock that avoids accidental adjustments and is designed for durability with minimal noise.

The FlapCair LAL has a fully internalized air circulation system to minimize air loss, even with ambient temperature changes. It features a cell depth of 6-inches to ensure that patients are always fully supported. A lower 2-inch support barrier is built-in to ensure inflation and prevent bottoming out, even in the event of sudden power loss.

This system includes the CairRails risk management system, which possesses inflated barriers along each side that guard against accidents patient falls. Additionally, this system features low shear, low friction nylon microbial therapy pads that protect against the growth of mold, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria. These therapy pads are machine washable.

This unit includes the mattress and control unit with a hard-wired power cord. Please note that bed frames are sold separately.
