With a simple push of the Quick Release Valve, caregivers can manually deflate the mattress in approximately 20 seconds, creating a recessed opening that accommodates a bedpan without requiring patient transfers. Once the valve is reinserted, the mattress quickly re-inflates and returns to its original shape. This innovative solution significantly reduces patient discomfort, improves hygiene, and minimizes physical strain on caregivers during toileting care.

To promote patient safety and positioning, the OB-1620 incorporates a sinking feature that lowers the mattress surface by up to 4 inches, forming a soft central barrier that helps keep patients securely positioned.
