Advanced Alternating Pressure and Lateral Rotation Therapy

The ObboMed OB-1650 StandardAir LAL Alternating Pressure Ulcer Mattress is engineered to deliver advanced pressure injury prevention through alternating pressure therapy combined with gentle lateral rotation. Using air cells that inflate and deflate in customizable 10–40 minute cycles, the mattress continuously redistributes pressure to reduce pressure points, improve circulation, and enhance overall comfort during extended bed rest. Integrated self-lateral rotation up to 15° and right/left/auto rotation up to 25° further support pressure relief while maintaining patient stability and safety.

Innovative Easy-Go Bedpan and Shampoo Solutions

Designed to reduce patient movement and caregiver strain, the OB-1650 features patented Easy-Go bedpan and Easy-Go shampoo systems. By activating the Quick Release Valve, caregivers can manually deflate the mattress in approximately 20 seconds, creating a recessed opening to accommodate either a bedpan or shampoo basin. Reinserting the valve restores the mattress to its original shape just as quickly. These features allow in-bed toileting and hair washing without transfers, improving hygiene, dignity, and comfort for bedridden patients while minimizing physical workload for caregivers.

Enhanced Safety, Centralization, and Sitting Support

For added protection, the OB-1650 incorporates patented inflatable air-filled guardrails, providing a soft yet firm alternative to traditional metal side rails. Combined with a 4-inch sinking surface and 4-inch inflatable guardrails, the mattress creates an 8-inch deep soft barrier that ensures patient centralization—even during 25-degree rotations. The Fowler/Sitting function enhances seat and torso support when the head of the bed is elevated, preventing bottoming out and reducing pressure injury risk in semi-upright positions. With a 450 lb weight capacity, this mattress is ideal for acute care, long-term care, and home health environments.
