Video transcript: Pride Go-Go Sport 3 Wheel Scooter

- Are you looking for a comfortable durable scooter with the convenience of exceptional portability? The Go-Go Sport 3-Wheel scooter from Pride Mobility is a great option. My name is Jeff. I'm a product specialist here at Med Mart. And I've been a registered nurse for over 25 years. In this video we're going to go over the Go-Go Sport, and why it's a great option and some of the benefits and things to think about on it.

The Go-Go Sport is a step up from the model just below it, which is the Go-Go Elite scooter. The scooter offers a 325 pound weight capacity, which may make the scooter a little more durable for you, Depending on your situation. It also offers a two inch longer and two inch wider wheelbase. And that's really important thing for both comfort and fit, especially for someone maybe my size 5'10", 210 pounds,

anywhere in that range. Sometimes people say they just want a little more comfort a little more width a little more stability, the smaller models may not offer that for them. With the standard batteries that come with a Go-Go Sport, you get a travel range of almost 16 miles per charge on these batteries, which is amazing. That has a top speed of 4.7 miles per hour.

Both those numbers can vary some kind depending on the person's weight. How you are using it going up hills downhill, things like that. But for the standard batteries that come with this, it gives you an impressive range to travel all day without having to recharge. when you do have to recharge the battery it comes with two convenient places to do that one is up here on the tiller or the top of the controller

or the steering, and the other one is down on the battery. So both have reasons why they're in that place. For up here It makes it really nice because when I don't have to bend over too far, in order to plug in a charge, I have to get down and look for a port somewhere down on the scooter. And there's also a charging port on the battery itself.

Why is that important? Let's say if I'm going to travel somewhere and I'm going to a hotel, I may not want to take my whole scooter inside to charge it. So in this case, I can just take the battery pack, bring it inside the hotel, hook it up to the charger and I'm good to go in the morning. Also if it's really cold or hot where you live, and you don't want to keep your batteries in the garage if it's extremely hot or extremely cold,

so I can take the battery pack, bring it inside the house, keep them warm, charge it up overnight, and keep my batteries in great condition through the winter or the peak of the summertime. The Go-Go Sport offers what's called a delta tiller or just another fancy word for a wrap-around steering wheel. So by doing this, it makes it very easy to find a comfortable hand position. Also the controls for either accelerating

or going in reverse are right here on both sides. So if you're right handed or left handed, or for some reason you have weakness on one side or the other, it makes it easy to control the scooter. I mentioned that this scooter is a little more comfortable for someone my size so we can kinda see how all the leg room I've got here especially what's nice about the three wheel scooter

is I've got a lot of ability to stretch out my legs. It just feels like a little more stable basically because the extra width and the extra two inches makes a huge difference on the comfort of the scooter so I feel very comfortable. And I feel like I could be in this all day if I had to. The seat also has a few other adjustments as I mentioned you can also raise the seat up and down has a range of about two inches.

Armrests can actually be tilted back and adjusted up a little bit if I need a little support. And also I can extend the arms out sideways to make a little more width if I needed to. The other thing too is let's say if the hand controller of the tiller, the steering is a little too far away or close to me with just an easy adjustment. I can bring this in a little bit closer to me just like that

to make it a little more comfortable for me. Another nice upgrade on the Go-Go Sport is the oversized basket which makes it easy to put things in here shop, carry a bag with you a purse, whatever you need to carry there's a lot of room inside this basket for you. This scooter comes with red and blue interchangeable color panels. So it makes it really easy to either go with blue or red.

I can vary throughout the year or if one of them is my favorite, I can stay with that just four pieces that snap off, and it makes it super easy to change the color of your scooter. Another convenient feature for getting on and off the scooter is the ability to pivot the chair. So a couple things, one, it makes it easier for me to get off the scooter instead of trying to step over the front.

I can basically go on the scooter this way or it also makes it convenient to pull up to the dining room table, eat and then turn back. So again if I get back on the scooter just raise the lever back up, turn it back in lock into place. (snap) And I'm good to go and it will pivot in either direction. So one of the biggest questions we get about any scooter

and especially this one is, "how easy is it to travel with?". As I mentioned as long as you have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds which is the heaviest piece on this. It can be broken down and travel with you.

[On screen: the scooter is shown taken apart. The presenter stands holding the front section (front wheel, floor plate, steering column folded flat) while a basket, a black battery pack and a rear section with the seat and rear wheels sit on the floor around him.]

So we're going to show you right now how to do that and it breaks down into five pieces. Just make sure you're always using good body mechanics when you are lifting these pieces. (upbeat music) The Go-Go sport is a quality scooter that is sure to meet your needs. If you need assistance with this scooter

Video transcript: How to Choose a Mobility Scooter

[music] If you have trouble getting around, an electric mobility scooter can be the key to regaining your independence, enjoying the outdoors, and navigating your

own home without the help of others. For all the difference it can make in your life, the researching and buying a mobility scooter is not always pleasant. There are so many options and so many decisions to make. It can be overwhelming to the first-time buyer and veteran scooter owners alike. Here are a few things to consider when buying a mobility scooter. Do you plan to use it indoors or outdoors?

Maneuvering your scooter inside your home will require a tight-turning radius and compact design. On the other hand, if you plan to use your scooter primarily outside, you'll want to consider one that can provide a comfortable ride over rough terrain and on even pavement. Speed and stability are important factors here too. Are you planning on transporting your scooter anywhere? If you plan on running most of your errands on your scooter from home, portability isn't a major concern.

If you need to take your scooter with you in a car or other vehicle however, you'll want to consider compact scooters that can be folded down to fit in the trunk of a car or easily taken apart and put back together. Will you take your scooter on roads? Local laws vary on the type of scooters that are allowed on public roads. So look into them before making a scooter-decision. In general, for road travel, most local regulations require

that scooters be able to achieve eight miles per hour and must have headlights and taillights. Will you need to climb up curves or steep hills? Going uphill in a scooter requires little bit of extra power. If you anticipate a lot of uphill travel, consider a four-wheel mobility scooter. [music]
